Calcite Crystal (CaC03)

This sample was collected from a Bau Gold Mine where my Client excavated an open pit in the limestone rock formation. I was required to study the slope stability of the open pit slope about 60m deep.
Calcite is a carbonate mineral with a Mohrs hardness of 3 and specific gravity of 2.71. This calcite is white when first collected and has turned greyish after many years.
